Winter tees have now been put in place to protect the grass tees.
Please note that there are various areas that are roped off, this is for protection of your course, please adhere to them and walk around the areas rather than through them, this work is essential so that the course is in the best shape possible.
Due to the very poor weather, ALL bunkers are considered GUR. If your ball comes to rest in one, you may take free relief in accordance with the rules. Please note that it is not compulsory to take relief so you may play the shot as it lies if you so wish.
Preferred lies are now in place on cut and prepared grass only. On fairways, fringes and greens the ball may be marked, lifted and cleaned, then replaced at a point no further than 6 inches from its original position, no nearer the hole. Plugged balls may be marked, lifted, cleaned and then placed as near to the original spot as possible through the green.
Not long to go now til the start of the Junior Academy, there are still some places available for all standards. Emphasis will be on playing, having fun, rules and etiquette.
Skills challenges and awards will now be incorporated into our junior coaching, giving everyone something to aim for.
Please contact Andrew Rigby for more information 0113 265 9203 option 2.
The fairy-tale was not meant to be for Danny Willett as Rory secured the Race to Dubai trophy with relative ease, it has to be said. His true ability shone bright at the DP World Tour Championship as he claimed victory in the season finale over a stubborn Andy Sullivan. But who can really argue that McIlroy didn't deserve this accolade? He has played just 12 qualifying events this season - the fewest out of anyone in the top 100 in the Race to Dubai - but still managed to finish a considerable way ahead of the field. And a small mention must go to Ivor Robson who bid farewell to the European Tour on Sunday after more than 40 years as the official starter - not sure it will be quite the same without him.
This week, with Rory McIlroy's success in Dubai we take a look into his bag.

With the cold weather now firmly here, now is a good time to mention the warm up. We all know that it is much more alluring to have that coffee and bacon sandwich in the comfort of the clubhouse then wander down to the first tee dressed like an arctic voyager at the last minute. There are two main problems with this. Firstly, your first few holes are effectively your driving range where good scores are rare and good rounds could be scuppered before they start. The second, and more important is the risk of injury. The golf swing is an explosive athletic movement that places a lot of stress on the muscles and joints. Even a "quick" 15 minute warm up with some dynamic stretches, gentle swings and some "feel" shots could make a massive difference to your round. Please speak to Adrian or Andy for more advice.
