Building on top of our purchase of the MR3 True Blue loft and lie machine and the imminent completion of the Swing Studio, we have added another string to our bow here in the pro shop. The ability to spine align golf shafts. Spine aligning is where they find the seam of the shaft and align it to the target line. It makes the club more stable and the reaction more consistent. This can be done during the initial building of the club or after. This service can be carried out for any club at a small charge of £25.00 per club. Please click here or speak to one of our team for more information.
Wednesday saw a "blind 9" competition where only 9 holes out of 18 counted but the players were unaware of which holes counted. Some very good scoring over the counting holes which led to a father and son one - two.
1st Place - Mick Coyne, 21 points
2nd Place - Neil Coyne, 20 points
Once again the weather took its toll on the weekends competitions with on the Jim Brunton Trophy being played on Saturday:
1st Place - Ryan Parsons & Mark Chapman, 59
2nd Place - Drew Bligh-Dobson & Trevor McDonnell, 61 (won on countback)
3rd Place - Kevin Ainley & Martin Johnson, 61
Well done everyone who braved the elements.
Winter tees have now been put in place to protect the grass tees.
Due to the very poor weather, ALL bunkers are considered GUR. If your ball comes to rest in one, you may take free relief in accordance with the rules. Please note that it is not compulsory to take relief so you may play the shot as it lies if you so wish.
Preferred lies are now in place on cut and prepared grass only. On fairways, fringes and greens the ball may be marked, lifted and cleaned, then replaced at a point no further than 6 inches from its original position, no nearer the hole. Plugged balls may be marked, lifted, cleaned and then placed as near to the original spot as possible through the green.
Registration for our junior academy is now open with classes starting in December and running through January with the first junior competition being held in January marking the start of the Junior Order of Merit. There will be one competition each month with prizes and points being awarded.
Skills challenges and awards will now be incorporated into our junior coaching, giving everyone something to aim for.

With just one event to go, it is all still to play for in this year's Race to Dubai. Seven golfers head into the final event of the season with a chance of topping the rankings, but who will it be? Henrik Stenson made it two years on the trot by successfully defending his title in the season-ending event last time round, but can he make it three? Standing in his way are golfers with a plethora of talent, including Rory McIlroy, Danny Willett, Shane Lowry, Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace and Byeong-hun An. No-one knows what is going to happen at this stage, but Sunday's action is not to be missed!
Also, The final stage of the European Tour Q-School takes place in Spain at the PGA Catalunya Resort. The top 30 and ties gain their full playing privileges on the European Tour for 2016. This 6 round shoot out is possibly the most pressure that the players have to face in their golfing careers with next years "job" on the line. Will they wilt under the pressure or rise to the top?

Don't make the mistake of having to hit 2 recovery shots in a row. How many time do we find ourselves in the trees and see that little gap about a foot square that we can thread the ball through, go for the shot only to find the ball playing pinball off the trees then we have to chip out sideways and make a double? Sound familiar to some?
Its seems strange that we've missed a 40 yard fairway yet feel we can hit the ball through a foot gap? If you're in trouble, take a second and a deep breath, then reach for the 7 or 8 iron and chip it out through the BIGGEST gap you can find, this may mean going backwards but at least your next shot will be from the fairway. You never know, you may even hole the next shot after all… Click here to get in touch.
