First impressions; I like the way it sits behind the ball, the thinner silver detailing on the top looks better and due to the Twist Face, the toe looks a fraction open which I prefer. Having changed the placing of the weight track and the movability of the weights themselves means that you can spend time making sure that the driver is right for you. What was it like to hit? The driver is a nice weight to swing and sounds very solid to hit. There was more of a ‘thwack’ than a ‘ting’ off the face. The Twist Face does what it says on the tin. I hit a few low towards the heel and a few higher towards the toe and the dispersion was pretty good and the distance wasn’t much shorter than a well struck shot. Does it go further? In short, yes. Having already hit a number of drivers during the evening I found that my swing speed had slowed down a little, (I was getting a little tired), However, the ball speed was still a little faster than my current driver, (the TaylorMade M1). I did hit a few with a similar speed and gained around 4 mph in ball speed which translates to roughly and extra 10 yards. In conclusion I think that TaylorMade have produced a great driver. If you are in the market for a new driver, I would certainly put this one on the list to try but make sure you get fitted correctly for it as it does carry a hefty price tag.
