News from the Tour Its been an interesting week from both the European tour and the PGA tour this week. Sergio Garcia was disqualified from the Saudi International for gross misconduct. The former Masters Champion deliberately damaged some of the greens at the event in a number of fits of temper which led to his disqualification from the event and nearly faced a substantial ban. The interpretation of the new rules was brought into question twice in America with Denny McCarthy having a penalty shot rescinded after it wrongly being given as it was thought that his caddy had lined him up. Eventual Phoenix Open Champion, Rickie Fowler, incurred two penalties on the same hole as he found the water twice even though one was after the penalty drop. Fowler had taken his drop and deemed the ball ‘in play’ only too see it roll into the water as he walked away. This could have rattled any golfer and could have led to them losing the tournament, however Fowler showed great mental strength and went on to win. On a lighter note; what are your thoughts on the 16th hole at the Phoenix Open? Rumoured to have around 60,000 people each day with the stadium idea, partying throughout the week. Jokingly booing a poor shot or a bogey and cheering good shots and birdies. Click here to let us know your thoughts.
