Tip of the month - playing in the autumn/ winter! Conditions have changed and I’m sure you’ll all agree that winter golf is here, good and proper. Because of this, we need to make one or two slight changes to our game to keep shooting low scores. Here are my top five winter golf tips: 1. Take more club - The ball isn’t going to fly as far since the air is colder and it will not run much when it lands. 2. Wrap up warm - The body doesn’t swing as well as it normally does when it’s cold. 3. Chipping - When chipping, give the ball more ‘air time’. During this time of year, you don’t know if the first bounce is going to be soft or not so fly it a little further. 4. Keep an eye on the ball after you’ve hit it - We're surrounded by trees and there is a lot of leaves around. Keep watching the ball a little longer or you could find yourself having to come and buy more balls. 5. Patience - Have patience and accept that even a well struck shot or putt might not react the way it ‘should’. Bonus tip: Have fun and enjoy it out there. If the ball isn’t behaving or you feel that you’ve turned up with some one else’s arms, then look around and take in how beautiful the scenery is. Click here to contact us.
