Greens information

The greens are recovering well from the hollow tinning that was carries out last week. There has been a lot of sand spread across the greens and there may be a top up over the next week.

This is essential work that should ensure the health and playability of the greens throughout the rest of the year.

Tip of the month

Practice aids

There are a whole host of weird and wonderful aids out there promising miracle improvements. One of the best that we have found are ‘tour sticks’. You will have seen these poking out of players’ bags in all sorts of colours. The beauty is that they are inexpensive and highly useful.

So, what are they used for? The list is endless but some of the most useful ones are here:

Ball position

Monitor your ball position and keep it consistent, this will lead to a much better and consistent strike on the ball.

Chipping

Extend the club with one to stop your hands becoming too active during a chip shot.

Swing plane

Stop yourself swinging too much from either the inside or outside by sticking one of the sticks in the ground and missing it when you swing.
