Greenkeeper's Update
Work as normal is being carried out with lots of cutting and preparing as the hot weather presents a different challenge as we do not want to lose areas. So Neil will be keeping a close eye on various high spots. A number of areas have be designated G.U.R as they have been re-seeded, please take the appropriate relief if your ball finds one of these areas. For those who are not sure what to do, mark the ball, determine the nearest point of full relief and then mark 1 club length from that spot.

Tip Of The Week
Having stood and watched out of the pro shop window and seen a vast number of people on the putting green, I have noticed that a number of people are 'too handsy' with their stroke. This makes speed or distance control difficult when your timing and feel are not quite on.
One of the methods that we have found works very well is to have the putting stroke dominated by the shoulders only, feeling them like a see-saw. The body stays as still as possible and the shoulders just rock. This shoulder motion keeps the putter at the same tempo back and through with the only difference between long putts and short one being the length of the stroke.

US Open Sweepstake
Great to see another first time major winner with Brooks Koepka winning the U.S Open on what had been thought of as a relatively tame course for a U.S Open. Not to say that the long rough didn't play a part, just ask Rory. Congratulations to our sweep winners: John Quinlan, Richard Bell and Steve Adkins. With The Open Championship rapidly approaching, the sweep sheet is already out and in the shop for you. So come in the shop and get your name down.
