Leeds Cup
As you are all aware, The Leeds Cup is on next week. The Pro-Am is being held on the Monday, followed by round one on the Tuesday with the top 40 players and ties playing on the Wednesday. Lots of good players coming to play so spectators are welcome. More information for the event can be found at www.pga.info. Come and support Your pro's too as they are playing.
Latest Update
As you have been made aware, Neil and his staff are constantly striving to make the course the best it can be. A lot of hard work and effort is going into the course based on the constructive feedback that is given. Recently the greens have been scarified and top dressed, various areas are being 'tidied up' and the bunkers have received around 20 tonnes of new sand.
The recent dry and windy weather has made things rather testing as it is drying the course out faster than expected.

Tip Of The Week
As the golf club are trialling the idea of not having 'front, middle and back' flags and just outward nine and inward nine flags, now is a good time to look at your approach play.
How many times do you find yourself 'flag hunting', missing the green, ending up in trouble which costs a shot or three?
The great Jack Nicklaus was once asked about his approach shots to Augusta National's greens and he said that most of the time he just wanting to hit the middle of the green. If he did that, then he would never be too far away from the flag and a potential birdie putt.
If it's good enough for Jack then it must be good enough for the rest of us.
The middle of the green never moves.
Now might be a good time to consider a measuring device such as the Golf Buddy WT5. For more information, please pop in and speak to Ady or Andy.

Junior News
More good work from all this week. Getting back into having fun and learning to get the body moving before playing. Fundamental movement skills are so much more important in building a golfer, if the body learns early how it can move then learning the golf swing and swinging the club becomes much easier.
Congratulations go to Henry Ellam in playing in and being part of the winning team in last week's Mixed Stableford. Great to see him getting involved and seeing the practise paying off.
