New In! 

As we said last week, the new TaylorMade M series is here. Andy has recently been for a fitting for the new M1. Here are the main points that he has noticed: 

- More forgiveness, I can hit the ball anywhere on the face and it seems to stay pretty straight without losing any distance. 
- Much longer, I've been able to carry the ball further through the air during the winter when it is colder and the air is heavier than I carry my previous driver during the summer. 
- Solid sound, TaylorMade have improved the sound so it's not 'tinny'. 
- Higher ball speeds, More ball speed tends to equal more distance. 
- Consistently lower spin, This means that it doesn't balloon into the wind and isn't as affected by cross winds. 

"Overall, I've been very impressed by the new TaylorMade M1. I want to hit it at every chance, definitely money well spent".


 

Please Be Aware

We have noticed that the end of January and start of February have been a little damp. This obviously leads to areas of the golf course that receive the most traffic getting quite muddy, please bare this in mind as you walk round. 

There are areas that are fenced off or roped off, please pay attention to them and walk round. This includes the area between the bunker and the green on the 18th, there is a sign to remind players not to wheel their trollies in this area. 

Please also be aware that the soft course conditions lead to more pitchmarks, even from short shots into the green. Please take an extra second to scan round and repair any that you see.

Juniors Going Well

More good work this week by the juniors building towards the season. Hopefully we will be able to organise some rounds for them soon once the ground is a little firmer.

Tee it High... Let it Fly

With the golf course being a wet, the standard drive may not travel quite as far as there is very little run. It may be an idea to get a little more air time. To do this tee the ball a fraction higher and move the ball a touch further forward. Make your normal swing but keep your eyes on the back of the golf ball for as long as you can.
