Captains Away Trip 2017 

There are only 3 spaces left on next years' captain trip. 3 great courses and some fantastic accommodation have been booked. For those that have yet to pay their deposit, please do so by the end of the week.


 

Please be aware of the weather forecast. We have now got to the point where the course has been closed once or twice due to snow and rain. Please check the course report in the morning to find out if the course is open or closed, (option one). 

Having spoken with Neil, he is very pleased with the way in which the greens are coping with the weather, it's more some of the areas around the greens that are causing some issues with more 'traffic' on them. I'm sure you will all agree that the greens staff have done a great job thus far in very trying conditions.

Great commitment by the juniors this week with the course being closed and the weather being very cold. The younger ones staying inside where it was warm and using the Tri-Golf kit. 

Groups 2 and 3 braved the elements and spent some more time working on their putting and chipping.

Next week is our last week for 2016 (awwww). This gives you time to enjoy Christmas and get a little extra practice in before sessions start again in January.


 

Thought of the Week 

The bacon and egg sandwich Are you the chicken or the pig? 

When standing over a golf shot are you involved or committed? If you are involved then you've 'sort of' gone through your routine, maybe having that internal doubt about having the right club or aligned properly but swing the club anyway. If you're committed, then you have gone through your pre-shot routine and are stood there ready to make the best swing you can. In the bacon and egg sandwich, the chicken is involved but the pig is committed. 

For once, I'd rather be a pig…………
