Good to see so many back this week. Good work by all. Only 2 sessions left in this block then a short break so that everyone can get back into the school routine, (BOOOO!).
I'm just finalising the dates for the next block of lessons which will take us up to November. The 'Junior course' has been finalised too, cards are printed and the tees should be out this week so parents and grand parents can come out and can have some fun together.
Please speak to Andy to register your young ones for the next sessions.
Tested This Week
This week I have looked at the Benross range. Although not the most well-known brand, I have to say that the performance of the irons and woods are fantastic.
Benross have looked at 3 separate players; Ladies, Gents and Seniors. A lot of the other manufacturers out there alter the length and flex of the shaft between Men and Ladies but that is about it. Benross however have looked at the complete club leading to a product that fits the individual better and gives help when its needed.
The Gold Speed range is aimed at the senior golfer and is a little lighter in total to help regain some of the swing speed that diminishes over the years. The shaft is a little more flexible to get the ball in the air easier and the club head is nice and forgiving.
Because Benross do not pay tour players to use and advertise their products they are able to keep costs low; A set of irons 5-SW can be purchased for as little as £250.00. Definitely a great deal.
Thought of the Week
This last couple of weeks has seen the weather be perfect for growing grass. This has led to the greens being a little slower than normal. Both members and visitors alike have complimented the quality of the roll on the greens but have struggled a little with the pace. Here is a quick video to help practise getting the pace of the greens:
