Memorial Medal 

1st Place went to Matthew Scholes with a Nett 65, in 2nd Place was Mark Chapman coming in with a Nett 65 and finally in 3rd Place came Geoff Short on Nett 66. 

Sunday Medal 

1st Place was taken by David Waite with a Nett 65, 2nd Place came Chris Burkill with a Nett 68 and in 3rd Place was Richard Davenport coming in with a Nett 68.


 

Great work from the juniors this week although a little quiet due to hollidays and things. Great to see everyone progressing and making a start on the next level of challenges in their skills booklets.


 

Tested This Week - Nike Vapor Fly Driver 

We've all seen Rory smashing drives with the blue headed driver this year. Once you get over the bright blue look there is a fabulous piece of kit underneath. The centre of gravity is lower than previous models which means the ball flies a little higher but they have been able to keep the spin rate low enough so that this combination lead to more yards - bonus. 

The distance on off-centre hits is great too, having tried to hit a few out the heel and off the toe there was not much yardage lost which is a big help when trying to give one the full beans. The shaft options are solid and so is the sound off the face, not 'tinnie' like one or two previous models. All in all, a very solid performer and certainly one of the more accurate drivers on the market.

I tend to keep a lot of statistics to measure my game from year to year both on the course and in practise, this helps me to identify areas to work on in the off season and then continue to test myself during my practice time.
