Hello golfers,
Having some much better weather has allowed Neil and the team to get out and smarten the course up after the rain and snow. The bunkers have been rotavated and the sand levels have been sorted so that they are all much more consistent. The recent warm weather has started to encourage more growth which means that more definition can be seen in the fairways, 1st cut and around the greens.
Preferred lies are still in operation. Please note that this is for cut and prepared grass only, however, plugged balls may be marked, lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty throughout the course. Due to abnormal green conditions, 2 drop zones have been created on the 5th hole. If you are off the green and the netting interferes with your line of shot, you may:
Play it as it lies
Play from the drop zone that is no nearer the hole.
When on the putting green and the netting interferes with the intended line, the ball may be marked, lifted and placed no nearer the hole without penalty.

Please ensure that you sign in on the computer before going out to play in any club competition and please ensure that you put your scores into the computer upon your return. Any cards not entered will be treated as a 'no return'. Please remember that your cad should have 2 signatures at the bottom to avoid disqualification.
Great to see the juniors working hard this week. Andy has started to utilise the Tri-Golf equipment which adds more fun to the lessons. The older group worked hard on their pre-shot routines so that they will ready to get out on the course soon. The 'junior course' is almost finalised and will be ready for the Summer holidays.
Experimentation and adaptability
Recently during a golf lesson, I spoke about practising in the bunker. During which I spoke about the need to practise the basic technique to get the ball out and on the green. Afterwards we spoke about the different types of lies that you can get. I suggested to my lesson that you spend some time trying different shots and learning how to play them, this will benefit your golf massively when your faced with the shots on the course.
For more information, please speak to Ady or Andy.
