Winter League
Please book for your final round in the winter league before the end of the month.
The white tees are now out and are to be used for competitions. Preferred lies are still in operation. Please note that this is for cut and prepared grass only, however, plugged balls may be marked, lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty throughout the course.
Due to abnormal green conditions, 2 drop zones have been created on the 5th hole. If you are off the green and the netting interferes with your line of shot, you may:
Play it as it lies
Play from the drop zone that is no nearer the hole.
When on the putting green and the netting interferes with the intended line, the ball may be marked, lifted and placed no nearer the hole without penalty.
For many golfers, they go to the driving range to practise because that's how they should get better. This doesn't always work and for a number of players drives them up the wall. "I've been to the range loads but don't seem to get any better", something we hear a lot.
Here are a couple of things that may help.
Check your basics. Make sure that your set up to hit the ball where you want to. Alignment sticks are perfect for this.
Practise with a purpose. Is there something specific to work on or are you just, 'beating balls'.
Have a target and make it specific.
Vary your practise. Don't just hit 100 7 irons.

Junior Academy
Following on from the great report from the Yorkshire Girls event last week, we will soon have a 9 hole 'junior course' and specific card. The tee markers are here and the course will be developed soon. The next batch of junior group lessons have started and we are pleased to see some new additions.
Looking forward to building the skills and getting everyone playing.
