Hello golfers,
We will be looking to move back onto the proper tees within the next week or so. The bunkers are now back in play but preferred lies are still in operation. The bird scaring device on the 5th appears to be working well keeping the crows away.

Winter League
We go into the final round which is being held at Carnoustie, the sight of one of Padraig Harrington's Open Championship victories, and who can forget 1999 where Jean Van Der Velde took a dip in the Barry Burn. The top 5 currently look like this:
1 - Angus Darby - 59 points
2 - Max Holiday - 55 points
3 - Tim Gerrard - 52 points
4 - Neil Coyne - 51 points
5 - Chris Burkill - 49 points
With the US Masters on this week, and the increased TV coverage, it is worth mentioning the players' practise habits. Most of the players spend a lot of time around the practise facility fine tuning their game. For the club golfer the idea of spending an hour or two a week practising bores them to tears.
Listening to the coverage, the players find ways to keep it interesting. For example, they will play the course in their mind on the range, they will play putting games line the compass point drill; one that Tiger Woods uses is called 9 shots, where he hits a low draw, regular draw, high draw, low fade, regular fade etc, this is something that you could try during your practise.
For more information, please speak to Ady or Andy.
Summer Knockout
The entry sheet for the summer knockout in the Golf Cave is out. This will run over the summer with a different course used each round.
Places are limited to the first 16 to sign up so book early to avoid disappointment.
Tried and Tested
This week Ady tested the new Nike Vapor driver. Impressed with the adjustability, you can change the lost from 8.5 to 12.5 degrees and alter the face from draw to fade bias.
The driver sits well and inspires confidence at address. The spin and launch figures were good which led to an increase in carry and overall distance.
