 TaylorMade Sale

With the launch of the new M2 series from TaylorMade, we have slashed the prices of the AeroBurner range and what is left of the R15 range. Grab yourself a bargin whilst stocks last.

Looking for a few more yards? Andy has tested and compared the TaylorMade M1 driver recently and was amazed at the difference, "the strike is solid and the noise is like the old fashioned 'twack' rather than a tinny ring. When I hit one out the middle I gained an extra 15 yards or so".

With the new season approaching, now is a good time to check your grips. Have they become a bit smooth, shiny and slippery after a year's hard service? Have your 7 iron re-gripped for FREE with a new Golf Pride grip.

Please speak to a member of the team for more information.

February's Winter League course has been announced and will be played at Sunningdale's front 9. Conditions will be a fraction more difficult to get you thinking.

Once again, mother nature has decided to show her wrath this week which has led to the course being closed so there were no competitions this week. Hopefully there will be some better weather soon, allowing us to get out there.

There was a couple of days where the greens staff could get out and help the course through this testing time.

All 18 greens have been aerated to allow some air into the soil.

Although there is not a trolley ban, members and guests are encouraged to carry to reduce the volume of traffic on the course and stress to 'well used' areas.

Please check the daily course information with regards the course/ holes being open. With the recent poor weather, to save inconvenience, it would be advisable to call ahead.

The junior academy held its first session in this block on Sunday. It is great to see everyone working hard. We had a break in the weather so it was out to the putting green with various stations and drills to improve all facets of putting. Well done guys.

Skills challenges and awards will now be incorporated into our junior coaching, giving everyone something to aim for.

Yorkshire's own Danny Willett made a brilliant clutch putt on the last to win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in dramatic style at Emirates Golf Club.

Willlett began the day with a one-shot lead and opened that up to three shots twice on Sunday afternoon, but a birdie on the last from Andy Sullivan and a birdie-birdie finish from Rafa Cabrera-Bello meant he needed to make a 15-foot putt for the title.

And make it he did, the 28 year old showing nerves of steel to send the ball down the slope, left-to-right and into the cup to seal his fourth European Tour win.

"I'm ecstatic," he said. "You can't buy that feeling, coming down the back nine, the last three holes, in contention in a golf tournament. It's something that you can't pay for in life. You've got to earn it.

"Coming down the last with all the situations that were going on. It's just nice to know that I can dig deep there and produce. You'd love to win by five or six every time you win, but when you win in that fashion, it does feel that little bit extra special" - Danny Willett

"It's a relatively daunting last hole. I needed to make a four to win. So I'm just delighted with how I dug deep and found it."

The win could send Willett into the top 15 in the Official World Golf Ranking and gives a major boost to his stated ambitions of making Darren Clarke's Ryder Cup team for Hazeltine.

Great foundations, make great structures

With a vast amount of control and power in the golf swing coming from the ground how do we keep in contact with it? Our feet. When was the last time you gave your golf shoes a little tlc? Are the laces worn and frayed? Are all the spikes there, if so how worn are they? Is it really time that they are consigned to the big shoe box in the sky?

Come and speak to one of your team to see if we can help you.
